Veterans Day – Veterans Day (this Friday November 11th) gives us an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the men and women who have served our great country. These women and men are responsible for not only the freedoms that we in the US enjoy, but also the freedoms that many around the world enjoy. After such a contentious election this week, Veterans Day reminds us that above all, we are Americans. It gives us the chance to pause and recognize the many people who have sacrificed so much to give us the freedoms we have today. This includes the freedom to vote in an open and fair election.
We ask that everyone take time to think about our veterans. Please keep in mind not only our recent veterans, but also all of those that who have come before them. From the founding of America up through today brave Americans have answered the call to serve.
Be thankful for our veterans and for their families. Be mindful of the fact that veterans and service members despise conflict and war more than the average citizen, but they also better understand that at times it is necessary to fight for and defend that which we hold most dear.
