Sacrifice – Merriam Webster describes it as the act of giving up something that you want to keep, especially in order to get or do something else or to help someone. On Memorial Day we remember and thank our veterans that gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of not only our freedom, but also the freedom of others throughout the world.
On Memorial day weekend let each of us take time to count our many blessings and appreciate the sacrifice that our men and women in uniform have made, especially those that have given their lives in defense of our country and for the lives of their buddies on their left an right. As many veterans will tell you when the bullets start flying the reason they do what they do is often times for each other. Many veterans and service members truly understand the meaning of the verse “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
The VAIRKKO team asks one more thing of you this Memorial Day weekend. Please keep in mind that for each service member who died in defense of our nation there are others who made major sacrifices. They are the families and loved ones of these brave men and women. These families also deserve our gratitude and thanks.
